We may still be only at the beginning of the Democratic primary to select the top of the ticket, but one aspect of the presidential ticket we generally don’t get to vote on is the #2 spot: The Vice President pick.
While the VP nod may not draw a dramatic change in voter preference, I think the 2016 election showed that a milquetoast choice for the #2 spot certainly doesn’t help to invigorate interest even among devout followers of the presidential candidate.
In other words, we don’t need a Tim Kaine this year. With our top candidates being 70+ years old, we not only need (comparative) youth, but also some vigor.
Blah, blah, blah… Regardless of your choice for the nomination for President, who would you most like to see as the vice presidential candidate on that person’s campaign? (Qualify your answer if different people would provide better support to different front runners.)
--Edit— I should have included Michelle Obama. I doubt she would entertain the idea, but… she would bring extreme interest and dynamism to the race.
