I was letting my mind skitter down scary hallways.  

What if Bush nuked Iran?  The Muslim world would rise up in horror and anger.  

Then what?  There would be unrest everywhere in the Muslim world (as well as the non-Muslim world.)  

Gosh!  Fundamentalist Muslims could topple Musharif in Pakistan.  They would have access to Pakistan's nuclear stockpile.  Who do they hate a lot that is right next door?   India!

And how many US companies have outsourced their financial and IT functions to India?   Hmmmm?

I haven't had much time to read about Bush okaying the leak of classified information.   I don't know much about national security or covert operations

I do have common sense.

I see that some Repugs are saying it was ok for Bush to leak/declassify info on Plame.  He is the (p)resident and has that authority.

I also see there is a law about not leaking the identity of CIA operatives, and I gather there are procedures to declassify such information.  

Hmmm.  Why do you suppose there might be such a law?  Maybe to get operatives out of harm's way rather than being surprised by the morning paper?  Maybe to allow foreign nationals, and their families, to do the same?  Maybe to shut down front companies cleanly w/o revealing anything?

Was Bush et. al. via their associates just shooting their mouths off for short term political goals and the hell with long-term national security?  That to me is the worst of this mess.   There is NO CARE for this nation or anyone else except them.
