Wed Apr 16, 2008 at 12:09:47 PM PDT

title= NOW at 3-4pm EDT / 12-1pm PDT Oregon Senate candidate and current House Speaker will be live blogging with the bloggers and readers at EENR! Come and join in the question and answer session.  This is our second live blog at EENR.  We had a wonderful session with Charlie Brown on March 24th.  We are very pleased to be able to interact with Democratic candidates this way. It gives us all an opportunity to get to know the candidates better and it's an opportunity for the candidates to hear the concerns of progressive activists from across the country.

We appreciate the support from Dkos members who want to know more about the candidates that are running for congress.

What do you know about the Oregon Senate race? If you're stumped, please follow me below the fold to learn about the race and the candidacy of Jeff Merkley.

Gore Will Launch a New $300M Climate Change Campaign

Mon Mar 31, 2008 at 08:22:13 PM PDT

Al Gore is about to step forward, back into the news again  The Washington Post reports

Former vice president Al Gore will launch a three-year, $300 million campaign Wednesday aimed at mobilizing Americans to push for aggressive reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, a move that ranks as one of the most ambitious and costly public advocacy campaigns in U.S. history.

Gore sees a need to educate the public about what is needed to address the climate crisis.  I am quite impressed at the plans for various ways of getting the information out to the public.  The key need is to have real policy changes be enacted.

Edwards: Haircuts and Paying Fair Value for Services

Thu Jul 05, 2007 at 09:34:14 AM PDT

This issue won't go away.  There will be NO coverup.  We now have another story from one of the pre-eminent "investigative" reporters of the Washington Post, John Solomon himself, doing an incredible in-depth exposé on the most important aspect of the Edwards campaign - the price and value of his haircuts.

Since this story has graced the pages of this paper more than once and has been discussed on every news show and late night monologues, we know that this is important stuff. In addition, the July 4th story has the human interest aspect.  Folks, this is Pulitzer prize material. Solomon has sought out the hairstylist, Torrenueva, to tell us his side of the story.  I can hardly wait to click through to the profound insights I'm sure I will find.

Why Are the Dems Not Able to Deal with Bush Effectively?

Mon May 21, 2007 at 05:49:42 AM PDT

We appear to have a government that is being run by a corrupt and willful administration.  There seems to be no shame or accountability being brought to bear on the president and his administration.  Many are in shock but do not know how to proceed.  No one is playing by the rules framed by the constitution.  The Democrats keep trying to work with the rules they have but cannot seem to get control of the situation even with all the oversight meetings.  A good example is Gonzales who is clearly incompetent and still has not resigned.  So what is going on?

Many in the netroots get it.  They intuitively know that impeachment is the only solution.  However others have fears about the process.  And so the question for me was what is happening and why don’t the senators and congressmen get it?
