A Band-Aid for a Brain Tumor

We are where we are because of Failed Conservative Policies.

For the last 30 years Conservative politicians, think tanks and corporate media have fed us a steady diet of lies and half truths that have created the dire political and social situation that America now finds herself in.

Voluntary regulation, market speculation, and corporate sponsored public policy are all Failed Conservative Policies and they are doing great damage to the American people.

We can now add off shore drilling and exploration to those Conservative Policies that are designed to fail Americans and turn America into a failed state.

Dishonest Conservative Brokers, the same people that said that invading Iraq would be good for America, the same people who deny global warming, the same people who said shopping for healthcare is good for Americans, say that we can drill our way out of our energy problems.

That's like putting a band-aid on a brain tumor. It only helps us in that it makes us feel as if we're doing something.

Forget about surgery, that's too expensive. Forget about Chemo, that's dangerous. Forget about radiation treatment, that's crazy talk. Take this band-aid, and slap it on your head, and you'll be fine.

I mean the band-aids are sitting right there in your medicine cabinet - right under your nose.

That's what they're telling us.

Everybody knows that the solution to our addiction to oil is to stop using so much oil. To find alternative means of energy production, mass transit and lifestyle changes, but the dishonest conservative is telling everyone that we can simply drill our way out of this fiasco.

Reliance on Oil is not the only place where we can see conservative dishonesty and failed conservative policies in action.

There's also Global Warming - carbon trading, voluntary regulation and flat out denial of reality.

Healthcare - shop for it. Never mind that shopping for healthcare is really extortion - what would you pay to save your life, your children's lives?

The Economy - Here, take this $300 and spend it at wal-mart - Band-Aid on a brain tumor.

Over and over, dishonest conservatives are pushing their failed conservative policies on us, promising a better life and complete remission of our 'tumors' and they are doing it with Band-Aids.

And one more thing...
Did I mention that the dishonest conservative has cornered the Band-Aid market and is a majority stock holder in all Band-Aid related products and services companies.

Relax, go shopping, put this band-aid on your forehead and everything will be fine.
